About Me
Neha Barani
HI,
My name is Neha Barani and I am a student at Rock Canyon High School for the class of 2024. This year, I am taking the AP Research class which allows students to conduct their own research projects based on their interests. For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for several science-related topics. Throughout my sophomore and junior year of high school, I was a part of the Biotechnology program at this school. This program taught me several insightful lessons on how to conduct experiments on different model organisms such as drosophila, c-elegans, and planaria. We also learned
several skills such as pipetting, CRISPR gene editing, and how to maintain a legal lab notebook throughout the research process. With all of this previous experience with scientific research, I decided to conduct my AP Research project towards a similar path. In the future, I would like to study more about neuroscience, and how the different parts of the brain can effect a person's neuropsychology. Outside of science, I love to dance and spend time with arts such as painting and drawing. I also love to hang out with my friends, and spend time listening to music.
